All, the next Hospizarbeit und Bioethik meeting will be held from 10:00 A.M. to noon on Saturday, June 19, in the Community Room of the Church Health Center's Hope & Healing facility at 1115 Union Avenue. Parking is free and plentiful. Please join us. Many thanks to the Church Health Center for providing us with this meeting space!

Items of business will include:
    **Progress of the task force on communications and outreach/public relations
    **Efforts toward organizing a Speakers' Bureau
    **Faith-based efforts
    **Selection of a second Rallying Points Certificate, which will address caregiver
        issues
    **Plans and preparations for our July 16 forum, which will be entitled Advancing
        Excellence in End-of-Life Care: Next Steps.

The July 16 forum will be also be held at the Hope and Healing Center, from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M., with registration starting at 10:30 A.M. Lunch will be provided through the generosity of Saint Francis Hospital. The keynote speaker will be Kenneth Robinson, MD, PhD, Tennessee State Commissioner of Health and Pastor of Saint Andrew AME Church in Memphis. Findings of our April 22 forum will be presented, as well as a report on efforts currently underway to improve end-of-life care, both locally and on the state level. Participants will be invited to become involved in the work of the Mid-South Hospizarbeit und Bioethik Coalition, and time will be provided for networking.

All, the next Hospizarbeit und Bioethik business meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 24, from 6:30 until 8:30 in the small conference room on the 27th floor of Clarke Towers. For a meeting this late, you will probably have to sign in at the main desk in the lobby. When you get off the elevators, turn in the opposite direction from the reception desk and take a right down that back hall. The small conference room is two doors down, and will be the only room that is open. As this is the first time we will have met in that room, there will be signs posted, marked MCCC, with arrows to direct you.

This meeting will address the question of whether the Hospizarbeit und Bioethik Coalition wishes to apply for not-for-profit status. Since some of us will be attending a meeting at another location immediately prior to the Hospizarbeit und Bioethik meeting, some folks may need to bring and eat a "brown bag" dinner. If anyone wishes to furnish additional refreshments, please e-mail Emily to let her know what you plan to bring.
