2017 MCCCB Consumer Education Presentations

Understanding End of Life (EOL) and Palliative Care Options and Creating an Advance Directive will be held Saturday, June 3, 2017 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM in Meeting Room A of the Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library located at 3030 Poplar Ave in Memphis.

What are the health care options for a person who is experiencing a great deal of pain and/or other uncomfortable symptoms?  Have you thought about the kind of care you would want to receive during your last months and days?  Who would speak for you if you were unable to speak for yourself?

  • Learn the difference between palliative care and hospice.
  • Learn to create an advance care plan to suit your needs and how to communicate your plan to family, friends, and/or medical staff who need to know your directive.

Speaker:  Angela Arnold, LMSW, is the Social Services Director for Crossroads Hospice. She provides community and professional staff education on hospice, End of Life dialogues with patients for professionals, and resiliency training.
